Q:How to extend the work permit?
A:Every mid of April, Human Resources will e-mail the personal information and current employment roster to foreign teachers for further confirmation. Faculty members who are continually recruited at MCU should provide a photocopy of passport, a photocopy of alien resident certificate, one passport-size photo, a photocopy of withholding and non-withholding tax statement, and a photocopy of tax receipt for previous year(or tax payment proof) during the mid of May. After the review of MCU department level faculty hiring and promotion committee, the previous documents as mentioned before and foreign faculty roster with the signature of department director should delivery to Human Resources. Then, all required documents will be sent to Council of Labor Affairs for extension of work permit as MCU university level faculty hiring and promotion committee has completed the review procedure. Human Resources will transfer the work permit certificate issued by Council of Labor Affairs to foreign teachers so that they are able to apply for extension of alien resident certificate at National Immigration Agency.
 
Q:How to apply for work permit?
A:New teachers are recruited after 3 level of the review of faculty hiring and promotion committee, and the hiring departments will deliver foreign faculty roster with the signature of department director, a photocopy of passport (including Entre stamp) , one passport-size photo, a photocopy of alien resident certificate, a photocopy of withholding and non-withholding tax statement, and a photocopy of tax receipt for previous year (or tax payment proof) to Council of Labor Affairs for work permit. Then, Human Resources will transfer the work permit certificate issued by Council of Labor Affairs to foreign teachers so that they are able to apply for alien resident certificate at National Immigration Agency. Finally, the electronic file of alien resident certificate should email to Human Resources for further procedures.
 
Q:Should spouses holding resident visa apply for work permit?
A:Foreigners who married with household-registered national citizen are obtained alien resident certificates, and then do not need to apply for work permit. Only one requirement is to email the electronic document of valid alien resident certificate to Human Resources for further reference.
 
Q:How to apply for work permit for foreigners who have the permanent resident visa in Taiwan?
A:Direct blood relatives with household registration in Taiwan or permanent residents are allowed to directly apply for work permit to Council of Labor Affairs. Only one requirement is to submit the photocopy of alien resident certificate and work permit certificate to Human Resources. It should be followed by the procedure of newly appointment (or renewal appointment) as MCU applies the work permit for foreign teachers.

Q:Change of name and address?
A:For change of name, please submit one photocopy of household registration to Human Resources. For change of address and contact number, please be informed by the document or phone.
 
Q:How to reissue faculty or staff IC card?
A:Please go to online e-form system and submit an application form of “Staff/Faculty IC Card Re-issue/Amendment Application” to Human Resources. After that, pay the application fee at Bursar section. If any needs, please provide a new photo. An applicant will be advised when Staff/Faculty IC Card is ready.
